JC Christy

​Originally from Central Ohio, JC began studying sculpture at The Ohio State University before transferring to Bowling Green State University in 2002 where he received his BFA. After completing an MFA in sculpture at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2005, he taught sculpture at Murray State University in Kentucky and later pursued a residency in the Metal Arts program at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark in Birmingham, Alabama.



In 2007, he became the Foundry Coordinator for Smartshop, a non-profit metalworking school and gallery in Kalamazoo, MI.


Christy is currently staff instructor in sculpture and blacksmithing at the Toledo Museum of Art.
