Madhurima Ganguly

BODH / বোধ)

February 2 - March 9, 2019

River House Arts is thrilled to present Bodh , an exhibition of lush new paintings and drawings by Madhurima Ganguly.

Grounded in her personal and familial experience of migration and transience – going back to the Partition of India - Ganguly finds inspiration for her work in mythology, religion, culture, politics, and nature. To challenge and investigate these powerful influences - particularly as they relate to intimate relationships and normative hierarchies - the artist digs deep into perceptual reality through a pointed use of materials, abstraction, figuration, and text.

Madhurima Ganguly was born and raised in Kolkata India, earning her BFA (2007) and MFA (2009) from Rabindra Bharati University. Her work has been exhibited in India, California, and Michigan ( including Art Prize in 2016 and 2017.) She is currently a resident of Ann Arbor ,Michigan.
