Reset: Body of Mind

Augusto Bordelois

April 19 - June 2, 2018

Artist reception: May 17, 6-9 pm

Havana native Augusto Bordelois returns to River House Arts for his second solo exhibition. In Reset: Body of Mind, the artist continues his investigation of our interior emotional landscapes, weaving lush and magical narratives throughout.

Generously proportioned figures, vibrant colors, and not a small amount of humor, bring the artist's incisive observations and critiques to life.  While Bordelois’ imagery could be endlessly parsed for hidden messages, themes, and literary symbolism, viewers can also just stand back and take in the near cinematic beauty of it all.

Since emigrating from Cuba in 1999, Augusto Bordelois has been living and working in the Cleveland area.  He is a graduate of the University of Havana and regularly exhibits his paintings both nationally and internationally. His work has been included in more than 120 group exhibitions and 30 solo exhibitions, is in private collections across the U.S., Latin America and Europe, and can be found in several institutional collections, including Cleveland Marshall College of Law / Cleveland State University and The Artists Archives of the Western Reserve (AAWR).
